CHICAGO, Nov. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Announcing BreakRoom Brewery, where hand-crafted beers and wood-crafted bars come together in this one of a kind microbrewery and brewpub. BreakRoom is scheduled to hit the scene December 2014, just West of Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood (2925 West Montrose Ave.) bordering Ravenswood Manor to the South.
BreakRoom Brewery is located in the same building as bar design and manufacturing business, Heineman Bar Company. The 4,000 square foot brewery will occupy space that was once home to Heineman employees' break room. In this unique brewpub, patrons can observe craftsmen design and create custom bars while enjoying craft beer, wine and spirits. In fact, Discovery Channel recently filmed a full series of Heineman Bar Company's work – from design and layout in the workshop to final bar installation, all on a national scale. The show is scheduled to air early 2015. "I'm very passionate about the work I do and am proud to be able to share the bar building experience with others. As bars and beer go hand-in-hand, opening a brewery in my wood shop has always been a dream and now its coming true with BreakRoom Brewery," founder Aaron Heineman said.
The last year has been a busy one for head brewer, Michael Pallen who created an array of proprietary beers that have already attracted a cult-like following. Pallen explains, "In the past twelve months, I've brewed over 80 beers and had the privilege of showcasing several at local festivals. The feedback has been incredible." 10 exclusive beers will be available on tap, including a few collaborative beers. Tours and tastings are already in demand. In addition, BreakRoom will feature a top-notch wine list and barrel-aged craft cocktails.
BreakRoom's newly transformed space uses original wooden trusses and rustic lighting to create a warm, comfortable atmosphere, which highlights character from the building's past while paying tribute to its urban setting. A retractable glass door will allow customers to relax and unwind while enjoying the outdoors. One focal point, an artifact of petrified wood dated over 200 million years old, will be featured in the bar for patrons to enjoy while having their growlers filled. BreakRoom plans to add a large patio opening in the spring of 2015.
BreakRoom's brunch, lunch and dinner menus will feature an eclectic mix of signature favorites with locally sourced ingredients. Nationally renowned Executive Chef Dirk Flanigan will build a menu for BreakRoom, framing a solid foundation of highly acclaimed fare, created exclusively to complement the hand-crafted brews. BreakRoom is sure to offer something for everyone.
Dean Ordzowialy, General Manager, is excited for the opening, "We're proud to be a part of the neighborhood and eager to celebrate our culture with new friends and family at BreakRoom. We encourage you to check out our Facebook page for more information about the grand opening. We can't wait to share our beer with Chicago at BreakRoom!"
