Brian Mehling, MD Attends Mending Kids International In LA

LOS ANGELES, May 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Horizon Charity Foundation board member, Brian Mehling, MD, made a significant donation to Mending Kids International during its recent benefit concert held at the House of Blues in Los Angeles.

Dr. Mehling, Eddie Amarante, Doreen Santora, John Ferguson, and other executive members of Blue Horizon International and Blue Horizon Charity Foundation attended the event hosted by acclaimed illusionist and Celebrity Apprentice fan-favorite Penn Jillette.

Entertainment was provided by 2014 Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame inductees, KISS. Other featured performances included acts by pop crooner Tom Jones, pop singer/songwriter Natasha Bedingfield, blues rockers Vintage Trouble, and jazz artist Brenna Whitaker accompanied by Little Big Band. Late-night TV host Arsenio Hall also appeared before the invitation-only audience.

Dr. Mehling donated a 10-day stay at his villa in Cannes, France, which sold for $17,000 during the live auction at the event.The villa is located at the walking/ hiking development and nature reserve Croix des Gardes on the edge of the Esterel Mountains.It overlooks Cannes and its bay, offering a splendid panoramic view of the sea and beaches.

In the last eight years, MendingKids.org has provided more than 1,500 children from 54 countries, including the United States, with life-changing surgical care to correct serious medical issues such as congenital heart defects, orthopedic abnormalities, severe scoliosis, and significant cranial facial deformities. Additionally, MendingKids.org offers training and research to assist surgeons in developing countries to create self-sustaining surgical programs providing access for more children to longer, healthier and happier lives.
