Bridge to College Named a Mutual of America 2012 Community Partnership Award Winner

NEW YORK, Nov. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mutual of America announced today that Bridge to College was named an Honorable Mention recipient in the 2012 Community Partnership Award competition.

Through its Bridge to College program, College Bound Dorchester addresses the needs of students who have left high school prior to graduating. Bridge to College helps them re-engage with their education, earn their GED and prepare for college through various levels of support that include academic coursework, referrals to external support services, mentoring and job coaching.

Since 2008, 88 students have received their GED and 56 have advanced to college. College Bound also partners with uAspire, an organization that helps students find an affordable path to post-secondary education without the burden of private loans.
