Brightmont Academy Awarded AdvancED Corporation Accreditation
The private school specializing in one-to-one instruction for K-12 students serves more than 2,500 students across five states and 10 campuses with its customized approach
SEATTLE, Feb. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Brightmont Academy, a private school specializing in one-to-one instruction, was granted AdvancED Corporation Accreditation. This means that the corporation is recognized across the nation as a quality education system, extending our previous school-based accreditation. The schools are accredited by either the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) or Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) which are accreditation divisions of AdvancED.
Brightmont Academy offers a unique school option for families that provides a learning approach customized for each student's specific academic needs and style. The one-to-one instruction means that one experienced teacher works with one student throughout every learning session.
"One-to-one instruction at Brightmont Academy fully individualizes the learning process to effectively address a wide range of learning challenges using rigorous, research-based curriculum," said Founder Ruth Wilson. "This is a proven model that addresses a range of student needs—those with learning difficulties, those who need support to graduate, and those students want to accelerate their studies.
"The AdvancED Corporation Accreditation validates to our parents, students and education partners, our commitment to excellence, our openness to external review and feedback, and our desire to be the best we can be on behalf of the students we serve," Wilson said.
The accreditation process involves three ongoing components: 1) meeting high quality standards; 2) implementing a continuous process of improvement; and 3) engaging in quality assurance through internal and external review. The corporation's accreditation is for a five-year term with regular monitoring of progress and reporting occurring throughout the term.
"Corporation Accreditation is a rigorous process that focuses on the primary goal of creating lifelong learners," said Dr. Mark Elgart, President and CEO of AdvancED. "Brightmont Academy is to be commended for engaging in this process and demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement."
Brightmont Academy serves the following locations: Arizona: Deer Valley, Chandler and Scottsdale; Minnesota: Apple Valley and Plymouth; Michigan: Northville; Missouri: Town and Country; Washington: Bellevue, Sammamish and Seattle.
