NEW YORK, Feb. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Built In NYC recently released their annual list of the Top 50 NYC startups to watch in 2016, highlighting 50 young companies they believe will have monumental growth over the next 12 months.
In 2015, New York City continued to make a name for itself in tech. Startups blossomed among the city's legacy industries, drawing a steady flow of VC money into growing industries like real estate tech, ad-tech, food-tech and fintech.
"It's an honor to be named a Top 50 Startup to Watch alongside entrepreneurs creating impactful change in both the world at-large and in New York's thriving startup scene," said Button Co-Founder and CEO Michael Jaconi. "We consider ourselves fortunate to be a part of this growing community that fosters some of the sharpest minds in the industry, solving real problems for people, in the greatest city in the world."
"We're thrilled to be recognized as one of the Top 50 Startups to Watch," said x.ai COO & Founder Alex Poon. "NYC is the best place in the world to build a great technology company. Where else can you find so many talented and diverse people? As the heart of many industries, NYC is an ideal place for us to realize our mission: magically schedule meetings for everyone."
To be included in the list, companies had to be digital tech-centered and founded within the last five years.
