Bush Library and Museum Issues Forum to Examine DNA, Genealogy
COLLEGE STATION, Texas, May 16, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at Texas A&M University will host a free issues forum on DNA and genealogy May 23 at 7 p.m. CDT.
Bennett Greenspan, president and CEO of Houston-based Family Tree DNA, will discuss how advances in DNA testing can lead to an increased understanding of one's genealogical background and family linkage.
Family Tree DNA and its cooperative ventures, including the National Geographic Society's Genographic Project and AfricanDNA.com, now comprise the largest non-medical DNA testing program in the world.

The Issues Forum is presented in conjunction with the exhibit "Genome: The Secret of How Life Works" on display at the Bush Library and Museum through July 5. Designed for all ages, the exhibit explores the nature and impact of advances in genome research through visually-rich environments, interactives, artifacts and multi-media presentations.
"Genome: The Secret of How Life Works" is a Traveling Exhibit Produced by Evergreen Exhibitions made possible by national title sponsor Pfizer, in collaboration with National Human Genome Research Institute, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services and Whitehead Institute/MIT Center for Genome Research.
The exhibit is sponsored by Texas A&M AgriLife Research and presented in cooperation with the Texas A&M University Whole Systems Genomics Initiative, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Department of Animal Science, and media partner KBTX Media.
