SALT LAKE CITY, April 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern Utah continues to see growth in the area of small business. More and more people are 'hanging out their shingle' and deciding to 'go it on their own'. This means growing and expanding their business and thus creating more jobs for area residents. Many of these small businesses have a great need of funding. To address the needs of this growing area, Celtic Bank, the 13th most active SBA lender in the nation, has named Curtis Anderson a Senior Loan Officer for the SBA (Small Business Administration) and Commercial Lending department for southern Utah. Anderson reports to Senior Vice President, Craig Calafati.
"Curtis is known for his SBA loan expertise and has a proven history of lending, including 23 million dollars in business loans during 2012 alone," Calafati said. "Curtis is an active member of the St George, Utah community. Having completed hundreds of loans for area businesses, he is seen as a strong business partner."
During his more than 18 years of experience, Anderson has also been the Vice President of SBA lending for Mountain America Credit Union, where he managed all areas from lending to servicing of loans and also served as the director of all business lending for Southwest Community Credit Union serving the Southern Utah community.
"Utah has earned the coveted reputation of being the friendliest state for startup and small businesses in the nation. As we have seen the economy recover, the lending environment has loosened up," Anderson said. "I am constantly looking for ways to help businesses grow and create more jobs. As a part of the Celtic Bank team I am eager to use my diverse experience and skill to be an even stronger partner for area businesses."
Curtis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Utah State University in Logan, Utah. Previously he has served on several Salt Lake City committees under the Mayor's office.
