Calculated Genius Nonprofit Organization Hosting Back-to-School Drive for CPS Highschool Teachers
CHICAGO, July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In one-month, Calculated Genius nonprofit organization will host its 1st-annual Teacher Appreciation supply drive for high school teachers.
The drive will be held at the Millennium Park Pavilion and will provide teachers the chance to pick up necessary classroom supplies, as well as enjoy giveaways, lunch and networking with other teachers in the area.
The event is being sponsored by KDM Engineering, and will focus on providing classroom supplies that teachers typically cover themselves, such as markers, folders, staplers, post-its, etc. Teachers will be able to choose the supplies they'd like to take and have them delivered in classroom-sized quantities (30) directly to the school of their choice.
"We are really looking forward to this event. We understand that teachers need support and would like to bridge that gap as much as possible. Since our organization focuses on high school-aged youth in the area, we decided to begin this giveback with their teachers," says Kimberly Moore, owner of KDM Engineering and founder of Calculated Genius.
The Teacher Supply Drive Event will be held from 9am to 2pm on Saturday, August 25, 2018. This is a free event, but we ask that all teachers reserve their tickets on Eventbrite and bring their CPS school ID to be verified at the entrance.

About CALCULATED GENIUS
CALCULATED GENIUS is a Chicago-based nonprofit organization that was founded in 2015 and dedicated to helping underrepresented youth explore and connect to engineering, in an effort to inspire and support a brighter future.
Established by Chicago engineer and entrepreneur, Kimberly Moore, Calculated Genius intends to bridge the gap between education and application. Specifically for otherwise disparaged youth who have interests in STEM, we look to educate and inspire and do so by offering the three major resources: time, money, and education. Our belief is that keeping the youth interested and involved at a pivotal age is essential to building the relationships necessary to prosper in the field. In 2017, Calculated Genius was able to donate over $50,000 in money and resources to Chicagoland STEM-based nonprofits. For more information, visit www.calculatedgenius.org.
