Calgary Based WiMacTel Launches Payphone Alternative in Canada With The Acquisition of CPC Payphone Assets

CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- WiMacTel, a telecom company serving Canada and USA, will provide an alternative pay phone service to Canadian business and municipalities after acquiring certain assets of Canada Payphone Corporation.

Calgary based WiMacTel, an independent nationwide telecommunications company and one of the largest provider of pay phones in North America, announced the acquisition of Canada Payphone Corporation's Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec pay phone assets.

The acquired payphones will be operated under the WiMacTel brand and will be upgraded to the company's Millennium payphone technology that include visual displays, card readers and ability to accept the new Loonie coin. The initial locations of WiMacTel payphones in Canada will include Shopping Malls, Grocery and Convenience Stores, Gas Stations, Hotels, Restaurants and Bars, Government, Recreational Complexes, Entertainment Centre's, Movie Theatres, Drop In Centre's and Oil Sands Camps.

The new base of payphones in Canada complements WiMacTel's USA payphones and positions WiMacTel as the only company serving accounts in both countries. WiMacTel provides all services necessary to operate payphones including operator services, long distance, directory assistance, wireless dial tone and repair/collection staff.
