California Film Commission, FilmL.A. Join List Of Sponsors Of Made-In-Hollywood Honors; Salute To Locally Made Emmy Nominees To Be Presented August 7 at 1600 VINE Ceremony

LOS ANGELES, July 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Made-In-Hollywood Honors, the three year old program in which Los Angeles City Councilmen for the Hollywood area, Tom LaBonge and Mitch O'Farrell, pay tribute to locally-made film or TV shows nominated for either Emmy or Oscar awards in all production categories, will add to its list of sponsors two of the most engaged organizations working for the return of film-making to the historic film capital.  The California Film Commission, which administers the state's film and TV tax credit program and works to increase motion picture production throughout California and FilmL.A., the official film office of the City and County of Los Angeles, will become co-sponsors of the Made-In-Hollywood Honors along with the LA City Council, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Klein-Financial, managing partner of the luxury apartment complex 1600 VINE, site of the honors presentations and formerly the site of historic Hollywood Brown Derby.

Councilman LaBonge remarked, "The participation of these two remarkable organizations adds state, county and city endorsement to the MIH Honors' celebration of the home team's accomplishments, a program the Los Angeles City Council and 1600 Vine began three years ago to help restore the glory and the full employment of Southern California's unequalled film-making capabilities, talents and diverse locations."

Qualifying honorees among current Emmy nominees are now being validated, and production companies can email [email protected]  to assure that their qualification is included in the August 7 presentation ceremony. Previous MIH honorees include Oscar winners "The Artist" and "Argo" for Best Film and "Frozen" for Best Animated Film and in the Best Movie or Mini-Series category, and last year's Emmy winner, "Behind the Candelabra."
