California Game Changer Awards; Finalists Announced
PLEASANTON, SACRAMENTO and CHICO Calif., Nov. 15, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- GROWCalifornia announced today the 100 finalists for the inaugural California Game Changer awards who will be honored at the two-day Game Changers Fall 2010 conference, November 16-17, at Casa Real in Pleasanton. The prestigious California Game Changer awards will be presented by the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GoED) to a maximum of 12 game-changing companies, recommended by a Steering Committee of industry experts. These companies are being recognized for their positive economic impact on the state in 2010. The awards will be presented during a special ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16.

The Game Changer awards are also endorsed by California Congressman John Garamendi, who will honor the winners with special certificates of appreciation for their impact on the California economy. GROWCalifornia is a statewide initiative to foster innovation and is operated by Golden Capital Network, a nonprofit corporation. Game Changers Fall 2010 is a GROWCalifornia event to specifically recognize leading edge innovation companies in California. A Game Changers Steering Committee reviewed a pool of over 350 nominees before reducing the list to the next round of finalists – just over 100 – that include cutting-edge companies across many of California's leading industries.
