California Judges Association Renews Partnership with Abine to Provide Improved Online Privacy to its Judicial Members
CJA's Network of Judges Begin Second Year of DeleteMe Partnership to Remove Judges' Personal Data from People Search and Data Broker Sites
BOSTON, June 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Abine, Inc., the leading online privacy company, announced the renewal of an exclusive partnership today with the California Judges Association to provide its DeleteMe service to the Association's judicial members. Abine's DeleteMe is a subscription-based service that finds and removes personal data from some of the largest data broker websites and monitors these sites to ensure that data does not return.
Consumer worries about online privacy continue to grow, and this concern is even more pronounced among members of the judicial system. Due to the nature of their work, judicial professionals face heightened personal safety and security risks from strangers or adversarial legal parties seeking them out at home. Judges in particular worry that litigants or families of those sentenced to prison may retaliate against them, turning to online databases to obtain a judge's personal information.
Through marketing databases, social networks, legal documents and public records, like marriage licenses and driver's licenses, a judge's most personal information can often be found online. Their name, age, estimated net worth and current address are just a few of the pieces of information up for sale.
"The lack of online privacy today is a big problem for everyone, including judges. We've been pleased with the help that the DeleteMe service provides," said Stan Bissey, executive director and CEO of the California Judges Association.
With a DeleteMe subscription, Abine's privacy experts remove subscribers' personal information from more than 30 of the largest people search websites, including BeenVerified.com, PeopleSmart.com, Spokeo.com, and Whitepages.com. Most sites have a unique procedure to remove listings. Abine's DeleteMe operators are experts in each of these website's privacy policies, terms of use and processes to ensure that all personal information is properly and swiftly removed. DeleteMe subscriptions also include monitoring to prevent information from reappearing and provide subscribers with a comprehensive report showing the state of their online privacy.
"We're pleased to continue bringing greater privacy and control to the members of the California Judges Association through this exclusive partnership," said Bill Kerrigan, Abine CEO. "By providing the Association's members with DeleteMe, it makes it difficult for strangers to find these judges' personal information, including where they live or how to contact them. Our DeleteMe operators remove profiles from the largest, most invasive databases and monitor the status of their information, significantly improving a judge's privacy online."
DeleteMe is offered as a one- or two-year subscription for U.S. residents. One- and two-person subscriptions are available. For more information about DeleteMe services and prices, visit www.abine.com/deleteme.
