NEW YORK, July 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On Sunday, September 20, 2015 TEDxFultonStreet will return to downtown Manhattan for its second annual event, bringing together leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs in Technology, Entertainment and Design (the "T.E.D." of TED). Tickets are now available for this immersive full-day experience taking place at the historic BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center.
"TEDxFultonStreet is the ideal forum for curious and open minds looking to forge new connections, spark conversations and share ideas with other creative individuals across disciplines," said Aaron Sylvan, the creator and organizer of TEDxFultonStreet. "Last year's inaugural event gave over 300 attendees an unexpected glimpse into worldviews that they may not have otherwise seen. We are thrilled to report that this year's event is shaping up to be just as incredible."
Twenty dynamic and thought-provoking speakers will take the stage to discuss how they are changing the world. This year's event is titled "Charge" and will feature three jam-packed sessions themed around three meanings of that word: Stampede (exemplars of "Exceptional Enthusiasm"), Electricity (masters of "Plus or Minus" currents) and Commerce (people conducting "Business Unusual").
Throughout the day attendees can expect to hear compelling stories from all walks of life including artists, entrepreneurs, business leaders, inventors, adventurers, tech experts and activists for social good. A few examples to look forward to from this year's lineup include:
- Brad Baker (Deep-Sea Treasure Hunter – Chairman of Odyssey Marine Exploration)
- Brian Cohen (First investor in Pinterest — Chairman of New York Angels)
- Richard Stratton (Former Drug Smuggler Turned Publisher/Author/TV Executive)

About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
About TED
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Salman Khan and Daniel Kahneman.
The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia, along with the TEDActive simulcast event in nearby Whistler. The annual TEDGlobal conference was held this past October in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. TED's media initiatives include TED.com, where new TED Talks are posted daily; the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as translations from volunteers worldwide; and the educational initiative TED-Ed. TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world get help translating their wishes into action; TEDx, which supports individuals or groups in hosting local, self- organized TED-style events around the world, and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
