Camp Cheerful's Fall Festival Celebrates 20th Anniversary
Event to be held October 20, 2012 to benefit Camp Cheerful
STRONGSVILLE, Ohio, Oct. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 20th Annual Camp Cheerful Fall Festival Dinner and Silent Auction will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 6:30 to 11:00 p.m. at the Achievement Centers for Children's Camp Cheerful, 15000 Cheerful Lane in Strongsville, Ohio. Support for the event is provided by Catan Fashions, Robert W. Baird & Company and the Brunswick Automart, and other generous sponsors.
In recognition of the 20th anniversary of the Fall Festival, the program will include a speaker who enjoyed Camp Cheerful as a child. Also, Tiffani Tucker, Channel 19's weekend anchor, and member of the Achievement Centers' Board of Directors, will be the enthusiastic Master of Ceremonies for the program.
The casual, fun evening will include a spectacular dinner buffet prepared and served by Chef Chris Olszewski and students from the Polaris Career Center Culinary Academy, as well as dancing to the AKA Band. Popular silent auction items will include many unique experience packages and items such as autographed sports memorabilia, sporting event tickets, spa and golf packages, restaurant certificates and more.
Camp Cheerful's Fall Festival is organized by a dedicated and active group of volunteers from the Strongsville area, with a goal to raise over $70,000 to support the many programs at Camp Cheerful. As one volunteer, Mary Ellen Petras said, "It's heartwarming to see where the money is going and to know that every penny stays at camp. Every child should have the opportunity to attend camp. Raising money for kids that can't afford it is the whole idea behind this."
Tickets for the event are $40.00 per person and include dinner, refreshments and dancing. Reservations may be made by calling Barb at Camp Cheerful at 440-238-6200 ext. 222.
