WASHINGTON, Oct. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Smithsonian's Anacostia Community Museum presents the exhibition "Reclaiming the Edge: Urban Waterways and Civic Engagement," which looks at the worldwide movement to restore rivers in urban communities through the examination of the efforts targeting the Anacostia River and by extension, similar undertakings in Louisville, Ky., Pittsburgh, London, Los Angeles and Shanghai. "Reclaiming the Edge" is the exhibition portion of an ongoing research project on urban waterways initiated by the museum in 2010 and adopted by the Smithsonian Institution as one of its Grand Challenge efforts.
