CAPE PAC Releases New Episode of "Fact vs. Fiction" Ad Series
CAPE PAC's Latest Advertisement Supports U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen in 2012 Re-Election Bid
WASHINGTON, Aug. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Coalition of Americans for Political Equality Political Action Committee (CAPE PAC) has released a new episode in their ad series called "Fact vs. Fiction" promoting the candidacy of U.S. Congressman Erik Paulsen (R-MN) which is now airing in select markets.
The new ad, "Fact vs. Fiction: Erik Paulsen" supports Paulsen's re-election bid against challenger Brian Barnes of the Minnesota Democratic Farmer Labor Party. It is a part of a series that highlights facts behind fictional claims put forth by opponents of CAPE PAC-supported candidates. Click here to view the ad: http://youtu.be/rO8TBRrFP54.
The new CAPE PAC ad has been repeatedly criticized by the Barnes campaign as a part of their strategy to promote their candidate. CAPE PAC's response can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/capepac/posts/478465635505526.
CAPE PAC's Chairman Jeff Loyd said: "Congressman Paulsen is a strong fiscal leader and that is exactly what our nation needs now during our economic crisis. Our Fact vs. Fiction ad in support of Congressman Paulsen is far from an attack ad on Brian Barnes. I think if you watch the ad, that is very clear. We have no communication with the Paulsen campaign, nor will we. We will continue to run our ad and support Paulsen for Congress."
The CAPE PAC ad clearly states that it has not been authorized by the candidate, Congressman Paulsen. Political action committees (PACs) have the right to support candidates of their choosing, as long as they operate independently of the endorsed candidate's campaign.
There have also been numerous articles in support of CAPE PAC's position: http://politics.mn/2012/08/20/hook-line-sinker-fact-check-one-bobber-for-barnes-statement-on-cape-pac-ad/
CAPE PAC also created a support site for Paulsen, which can be found here: www.electerikpaulsen.org.
Congressman Paulsen has been representing Minnesota's 3rd Congressional District since 2009. He has over 16 years of experience as a business analyst at Target Corporation. He also served for 13 years in the Minnesota State Legislature, including tenure as the House Majority Leader from 2003-07. During his service in the Minnesota legislature, Paulsen teamed up with Governor Tim Pawlenty to eliminate $4.5 billion state budget deficit without raising taxes.
The Coalition of Americans for Political Equality Political Action Committee (CAPE PAC) is a non-profit political organization dedicated to restoring conservative values in the politicians elected to represent all citizens of the United States of America. Through the utilization of tools in the CAPE PAC advocacy center, our goal is to assist an informed and active citizenry in their drive for change in the political landscape this November and beyond.
