CAPE PAC Releases New Episode of "Fact vs. Fiction" Ad Series
CAPE PAC's Latest Advertisement Supports Dean Heller for U.S. Senate in Nevada
WASHINGTON, Sept. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Coalition of Americans for Political Equality Political Action Committee (CAPE PAC) has released a new episode in their ad series called "Fact vs. Fiction" supporting U.S. Senator Dean Heller's (R-NV) candidacy in his election bid this November. Heller, a former two-term congressman, was appointed to the seat previously held by Sen. John Ensign (R), who resigned last year. The ad is now airing in select markets.
The new ad, "Fact vs. Fiction: Dean Heller" supports Heller's election bid against U.S. Rep. Shelly Berkley (D-NV) who serves Nevada's 1st congressional district. The video refutes Berkley's negative charges about Dean's record in the U.S. Senate, slamming him for his support of the "Cut, Cap & Balance Act." The fact is, North Las Vegas city leaders have declared a state of fiscal emergency – and Heller's plan for responsible fiscal management is critically needed to get Nevada's economy back on track.
CAPE PAC aims to educate voters about Heller's record of fiscal leadership and to help get-out-the-vote for his campaign. The organization is engaged in spreading awareness to Nevada voters and the nation as a whole about the need to elect Heller to return to the U.S. Senate. The ad is a part of a series that highlights facts behind fictional claims put forth by opponents of CAPE PAC-supported candidates. CAPE PAC's Chairman Jeff Loyd said: "It's imperative that Dean Heller remain in the U.S. Senate to offer an opposing viewpoint to Harry Reid from Nevada. Over the last four years, Nevada has been one of the hardest hit states because of the failed policies of the Left. President Obama has personally attacked Las Vegas which has played a role in North Las Vegas recently declaring a state of fiscal emergency. CAPE PAC is standing behind leaders like Senator Heller and supporting him because we believe he will continue the fight to restore our nation's economy."
CAPE PAC also created a support site for Heller, which can be found here: www.electdeanheller.org. The organization has also been pushing the hashtag #VoteHeller on Twitter, as well as spreading the news on other social channels, such as Facebook, Google+, blogs, etc.
U.S. Senator Dean Heller (NV) was sworn in to the U.S. Senate on May 9, 2011. Heller previously served as a U.S. Representative for Nevada's Second congressional district, as Nevada's Secretary of State for three terms, and in the Nevada State Assembly for two terms. He currently serves on the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee; the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee; and the Special Committee on Aging. Jobs and the economy continue to be Heller's top priorities, and these committees allow him to address climbing gas prices, ensure that Nevada's transportation needs are met, and foster a regulatory climate that does not impede interstate commerce.
