Capital Gold Group Donates to Global Green USA Efforts to Combat BP Oil Spill

LOS ANGELES, June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- As a sustaining member of Global Green USA, and in its commitment to corporate social responsibility, Capital Gold Group (CGG) has responded to an urgent plea for additional donations to support Louisiana and its Gulf Coast neighbors suffering the mounting devastation created by the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

The explosion of the Transocean Deepwater Horizon rig on April 20 that killed 11 people and led to the BP oil spill resulted in not only the largest oil spill ever in the United States, but also the worst environmental disaster in American history.  It immediately threatens coastal Louisiana, Gulf Coast fisheries, Gulf of Mexico ecosystems, and perhaps the East Coast, as the spill reaches the loop current.

According to experts, it may well take years if not decades for commercial fishing, community beaches and nearby wetlands to recover.   Therefore, Capital Gold Group CEO, Jonathan Rose, would like to encourage everyone, individuals and corporations alike, to respond in any way possible to help protect the lives and livelihood of so many who are struggling to deal with the environmental and economic devastation caused by the BP oil spill.

Experts say, however, that the greater damage will occur beneath the water's surface and will never been seen, as zooplankton and tiny invertebrate communities at the base of the aquatic food chain are devastated by the oil and dispersants.  The Gulf's marshes, beaches and coastal waters, which nurture a vast array of sea life, could also die-off out of sight over months or years.

"Both people and wildlife will suffer greatly and for a long time from this tragedy.  Ideally, we'd like to see individuals and businesses respond the way we all did for Help for Haiti Now and Hurricane Katrina and just give whatever they can," said Mr. Rose.
