'Car Czar' Steven Rattner and Author Paul Ingrassia Debate Future of U.S. Auto Industry, Government's Role in Corporate Restructurings at Dow Jones Bankruptcy Conference
Dow Jones Daily Bankruptcy Review Restructuring & Turnaround Summit to Highlight Distressed Investment Opportunities, Risks and Rewards; Examine Government's Role in Shaping Industry
NEW YORK, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Department of Treasury's Former Counselor to the Secretary and Lead Auto Advisor Steven Rattner will sit opposite Pulitzer Prize-winning former Wall Street Journal Detroit Bureau Chief Paul Ingrassia to discuss the struggling U.S. auto industry during an exclusive keynote session at the Dow Jones Daily Bankruptcy Review Restructuring & Turnaround Summit. The conference will take place on March 10, 2010 at Bridgewaters in New York.
Mr. Rattner and Mr. Ingrassia will debate what it will take to turn around General Motors (GM) and Chrysler as well as the automotive parts and supplies companies that rely on the major American automakers. They will also examine what role the government will likely play in future corporate restructurings and turnarounds and how this will impact investors, corporate executives and other industry players.
Co-founder of the Quadrangle Group, Mr. Rattner rose to national prominence in 2009 as the "Car Czar" in the Obama Administration's reorganizations of Chrysler and GM. Mr. Ingrassia has covered the automobile industry for 25 years. All conference attendees will receive a complimentary copy of his recently published book Crash Course: The American Automobile Industry's Road from Glory to Disaster.
The Dow Jones Daily Bankruptcy Review Restructuring & Turnaround Summit will convene top turnaround specialists, bankruptcy attorneys, private equity and distressed debt investors and other industry experts for one day of in-depth discussions on distressed debt fundraising, investment, deal flow, liquidity and returns.
