SHANGHAI, Oct. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Population ageing is a global trend - China became an ageing society 10 years ago. There were over 185 million Chinese aged over 60 (13.7% of the total population) in 2011, but this will rise to an estimated 300 million in 2014. This demographic process will continue and is set to peak around 2030. Thanks to this trend, the care of senior citizens in China is a market experiencing significant growth. The market, now estimated to be worth RMB 1 trillion, is expected to grow to RMB 8 trillion by 2050. They will cover a variety of topics, including business opportunities, practical advice for care operators and government policy with regards to the care of older people in China. Major topics include care models, operation management, rehabilitation and nursing, innovative technology, promoting the development of different care models in China and the Asia region. The event will bring together private sector businesses from different backgrounds and regions looking at successful business models, management advice and investment opportunities in China and overseas. The event is an ideal networking place for industry professionals, government officials, investors and related organizations.
Senior care models, operation and management, rehabilitation and technology innovation will be the highlights. The professionals from Mainland China, Taiwan and Japan will compare senior care models and successful case studies. The American expert, Peter Magaro, will analyze memory problems and treatments for the elderly. A professor of Public Healthcare will give the speech on community healthcare resources and senior care under China's healthcare reform.
