Caregiving Expert And Author Peter Rosenberger Warns Of The Burden ObamaCare Will Continue To Impose
Rosenberger draws attention to the 45 million people who will be affected if America's healthcare system is left unchanged
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- November is National Family Caregivers Month, and caregiver advocate Peter Rosenberger is reminding Americans to consider the importance of healthcare policies. "The challenges of soaring premiums and deductibles of ObamaCare (ACA) create additional obstacles to caregivers who themselves are often in need of significant medical care," said Rosenberger in a statement made today. "It is vitally important that the Trump administration and Congress repeal and replace this program. Better competition among insurance providers will drive down health insurance costs to customers—and lower costs will help incentivize caregivers to seek care for their health needs."
Rosenberger —an author and radio host—draws upon his own thirty-year journey as a caregiver through his wife's disastrous medical journey following a horrific car accident that led to 78 operations, multiple amputations and more than $10 million in medical bills. His latest book, 7 Caregiver Landmines and How You Can Avoid Them, stresses the importance of caregivers seeking medical treatment for themselves. According to Rosenberger, "There are more than 65 million Americans serving as a family caregiver, and 72 percent of those caregivers fail to see their own doctor regularly." He continues, "Nearly half of those serving as caregivers are employed—and the workplace, as well as the national economy, will be detrimentally affected as this vast population continues to grow in response to the needs of the massive and aging baby-boomer population."
Topics for the caregiver in his new book include ignoring personal health needs, isolation, loss of identity, and feelings of guilt and fear. Rosenberger has simultaneously released a new album through iTunes entitled Songs for the Caregiver, on which his wife, Gracie, sings. It is a record of comfort and strength for caregivers on their ongoing, daily journey.
Peter Rosenberger is a radio host, author and speaker—and serves as an advocate for caregivers. He hosts his own weekly radio show on the topic, broadcasting on WLAC and iHeartRadio. Peter's first book, Hope for the Caregiver, is now in its third printing, and his second book, 7 Caregiver Landmines and How You Can Avoid Them, released November 1st, 2016.
