NEW YORK, Aug. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that Carl L. Johnson has joined the firm's Advisory business as a senior advisor focusing on serving public sector organizations. Based in PwC's McLean, VA office, Johnson brings over 38 years of experience working with cyber intelligence, data analytics, and cryptology to help organizations mitigate the threat of cybercrime.

Johnson joins PwC from the National Security Agency (NSA) where he was the Signals Intelligence Directorate's Chief of Staff. He also previously served as the Chief NSA/Central Security Service (CSS) Europe. In this position, he led NSA's Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Information Assurance, and Network Warfare support to Europe and Africa Commands while managing the cryptologic enterprise focused on their areas of responsibility. Johnson was the European Command's primary linkage to NSA Headquarters and its capabilities and services. Johnson also served as NSA's Deputy Director for Analysis and Production with global responsibility, and was the Senior Advisor to the Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Analysis and Support. Prior to his role at NSA, Johnson served in the U.S. Air Force as a cryptologist.
Among his accomplishments, Johnson received the 2012 Presidential Rank Award, which is awarded by the president to Federal career civil service leaders, professionals, and scientists who demonstrate strength, integrity, and a commitment to excellence in public service.
