Carolinas Minority Supplier Development Council Invites Sports Fanatics To Bid On Rare Collectible Football Featuring 21 Heisman Winner Autographs
CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 20, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A football autographed by 21 living Heisman Trophy winners is on the auction block for a fundraiser sponsored by the Carolinas Minority Supplier Development Council. Bids are currently being accepted until Friday, July 27 at 5 p.m. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit CMSDC to support its mission of expanding networking and contract opportunities for Minority Business Enterprises and to create mutually beneficial links between CMSDC corporate members and MBEs.
Opening bids for the rare collectible football start at $1,000. The winner will be announced and awarded the prize at the 35th annual CMSDC Business Opportunity Conference, July 31 – Aug. 1 at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in Charleston, South Carolina. More than 500 minority business owners, corporate executives and procurement professionals from the world's largest purchasing organizations will convene at the three-day event, which also includes a welcome reception, golf tournament, workshops, seminars, a business opportunity trade show and awards gala.
Collectors and sports enthusiasts have one week left to bid on the prized Heisman Trophy winner football featuring the signatures of 21 sports legends, including: Charlie Ward (Florida State-1993); Desmond Howard (Michigan-1991); Doug Flutie (Boston College-1984); Chris Weinke (Florida State-2000); George Rogers (South Carolina-1980); Troy Smith (Ohio State-2006); Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers (Nebraska-1972); and recent winner, Robert Griffin III (Baylor-2011). The football was signed during the 2011 Heisman Weekend in New York City.
