Cash Store Sponsors the ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run to Help Fund Scholarships for Texas Youth

IRVING, Texas, Feb. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cash Store, a Texas based consumer financial services provider, announced today that it is an Iron Spur Sponsor for the 26^th annual ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run on Sat., Feb. 23, 2013 in Houston, Texas. All race entry fees will be donated to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Educational Fund, which awards college scholarships to high school students in Texas.

More than 20,000 participants are expected to turn out for the 5K and 10K races, which kick off the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo parade. Last year's event attracted 15,000 participants and raised a record-breaking $400,000 for college scholarships. This year's event will also feature a costume contest, a post-race party, and an awards ceremony.

The 10K is a competitive timed race that begins at 9:20 a.m. The family friendly 5K non-competitive walk/run race begins at 9:45 a.m. Both races will start in the heart of downtown Houston at the intersection of Walker and Bagby Streets. The route will continue along Allen Parkway.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is the world's largest livestock show and rodeo that is devoted to helping youth, supporting education, and facilitating better agricultural practices through exhibitions and presentation.
