CCRKBA Urges Missouri Gun Owners To Attend Override Rally Sept. 11
BELLEVUE, Wash., Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Missouri gun owners are encouraged to attend the veto override rally on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the state capitol in Jefferson City, and support adoption of the Missouri Second Amendment Preservation Act, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.
CCRKBA has signed on as a co-sponsor of the rally, which is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Learn more by clicking the following link. Rally for the Second Amendment Preservation Act Veto Override.
"It is important in our democracy that the voices of law-abiding firearms owners be heard, especially on Wednesday in Jefferson City," said CCRKBA Chairman Alan M. Gottlieb. "We encourage all those who are able to attend to save time for a visit to the offices of their state senators and representatives."
Noting that the legislation in question has gotten plenty of attention in the national press, Gottlieb said the outcome of Wednesday's action by the Legislature could have far-reaching implications. Despite legal challenges to similar laws in other states, he said it is important to send a message that the Second Amendment means what it says.
The New York Times called the Missouri legislation "the most far-reaching states' rights endeavor in the country."
"It's no longer enough for politicians to say they 'support' the Second Amendment," Gottlieb observed. "It is time for our elected representatives, wherever they may serve, to prove it."
With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (www.ccrkba.org) is one of the nation's premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States.
