LOS ANGELES, Oct. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors hosts its 2015 Annual Gala honoring Thomas D. Gordon, CEO of Cedars-Sinai Medical Network Services, Oct. 13, 2015, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The already sold-out event will be attended by more than 1,000 guests.
Jay Leno will host the evening's program, and Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth will provide musical entertainment. Event co-Chairs are Paul Guerin and John Bendheim.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors Regenerative Medicine Institute, under the leadership of Clive Svendsen, PhD. The Institute advances the field of regenerative medicine by translating laboratory discoveries into effective stem-cell-based treatments for skeletal disorders and diseases of the brain, eye, pancreas, liver and blood.
For the 11th consecutive year, Lexus has joined forces with the Board of Governors as title sponsor for the gala event. Lexus will donate a 2016 Lexus LX 570 luxury utility vehicle to be raffled at the event.
During his tenure at Cedars-Sinai, Gordon has been one of the primary architects of the expansion of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network, fostering growth of the hospital into a comprehensive healthcare system that brings services into communities throughout the greater Los Angeles area. The network, comprised of multiple medical groups and treatment centers, includes more than 800 physicians, providers and specialists and serves more than 150,000 fee-for-service and managed care patients.
An alum and ardent supporter of the University of California, Los Angeles, Gordon teaches in the graduate program in Health Policy and Management and is a member of the Professional Advisory Council for the Fielding School of Public Health. He is a guest lecturer at UCLA's Andersen School of Business and the Fielding School of Public Health.
