SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- With fall upon us and the holiday season quickly approaching, The Gentle Barn (gentlebarn.org) is hoping to encourage the public to celebrate this Thanksgiving in a more compassionate way by hosting their sixteenth annual Gentle Thanksgiving event, from 3:00pm until 8:00pm on November 26th, Thanksgiving Day. Those wishing to celebrate the true meaning of Thanksgiving - a coming together to acknowledge everything for which to be grateful – can do so with a cruelty-free Thanksgiving at The Gentle Barn. "It really is a lifetime of suffering for these animals to be born and raised in a factory farm, and end up on people's plates," says Gentle Barn Founder Ellie Laks. "Our annual Thanksgiving event aims to end that suffering and to show others that this cruel cycle can be replaced with compassion and care for animals and adoption of a healthy plant-based diet."
With nearly 50 million turkeys consumed each Thanksgiving, The Gentle Barn wants to do its part to reduce that number. So instead of serving turkey, attendees will be given the opportunity to feed live turkeys that have been rescued from Thanksgiving! This one-of-a-kind event will have an abundance of delicious, healthy plant-based food provided by Tofurky. In addition to the great food, good company, and fun times behind the bonfire and Native American drum circle, you will walk away with an amazing swag bag provided by the generosity of Crunchies Natural Food Company and many of the admirable organizations who support The Gentle Barn. "The Gentle Barn wants to express recognition to these amazing companies who are getting involved to support a Gentle Thanksgiving," says Jay Weiner, Co-founder of The Gentle Barn and global corporate social responsibility (CSR) expert.
Sponsors for the event include sunchlorellausa.com, puremedy.com, tofurky.com drbronner.com, and openeyesfoundation.org. The Gentle Barn is proud to be the recipient of in-kind support from companies including naturesgate.com, drinkhint.com, earthbalancenatural.com, hugonaturals.com, crunchiesfood.com, gomacro.com, dermae.com, hurrawbalm.com and vegansociety.com.
