Celebrate #SauvBlanc Day with Matua
NAPA, Calif., May 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today is #SauvBlanc day, the day to celebrate all things Sauvignon Blanc – the crisp, refreshing, fruity and flavoursome drop that we all love.
In the 40th anniversary year of both Matua and Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand, Matua will be the first to celebrate #SauvBlancDay on Friday, May 16 before it travels around the world for 43 hours finishing at Twitter headquarters in San Francisco.
Matua planted the first New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc vines in 1969, beginning the world renowned combo of 'New Zealand and Sauvignon Blanc'. The first bottle of Matua Sauvignon Blanc was produced in 1974.
Bill Spence, Matua co-founder and Ambassador says:
"The world has fallen in love with Sauvignon Blanc because it is flavoursome, refreshing and great value for money. At Matua we are about producing delicious Sauvignon Blanc of exceptional quality at many different price points – a combination that has seen us recognized with many Global awards.
"We are so proud to have pioneered the wine that made New Zealand famous. When we were researching and grafting different grape varieties back in the sixties we knew that we were on to something pretty special, but we had no idea how big New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc would become.
"Friday, May 16 is the day to celebrate #SauvBlanc day over a glass of Matua – enjoy, tweet and be merry."
