STATEN ISLAND, N.Y., Feb. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Reality TV star chef Jeffrey Kochman found the recipe for successfully losing weight was to join CKO Kickboxing in Staten Island.
The 31-year-old senior sous chef at Newark Airport Hilton and featured celebrity chef on a cable television show has been profiled in a local newspaper, SILive.com. The media reported that Kochman lost about 80 pounds by participating in one-on-one training, calisthenics, kickboxing classes and dieting at the rapidly growing fitness exercise franchise.
With the help of trainer Nick Orlando, owner of CKO Kickboxing in Eltingville, Staten Island, New York, Kochman started to lose weight.
"It's a tear-jerker. It was 'lose weight, get into shape, or you're gonna die,'" the trainer said.
"Not all of our clients are celebrities. We just treat all our clients like they are celebrities," said Joe Andreula, Founder of CKO Kickboxing, one of America's hottest franchises according to industry-standard Entrepreneur Magazine, which included the sports fitness franchise in its Franchise 500 list of best franchises. The magazine also rated CKO Kickboxing as the 48th top new franchise in 2011.
The company, based in Hoboken, N.J., is expanding rapidly by finding franchisees who are committed to total development of their clients and creating a sense of community among all customers.
CKO Kickboxing continues to grow because trainers are committed to adding new routines to the workouts so routines don't grow stale, he said.
There are 23 locations in the New York/New Jersey area, and now the company is planning to expand these fitness group class franchises nationwide. Andreula is looking for quick expansion - but not at any cost.
"Before we choose a location, we choose a key person who we know can shine. Our franchisees must be passionate, inspirational and want to help others," he said.
