BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cenergy Power, one of California's leading solar developers, today announced the completion of two solar systems for Rio Bravo Ranch, one of the oldest and most respected California growers of citrus, almonds and walnuts.

Overall, these ground-mounted solar projects, sized at 277 kilowatt (kW) and 87kW, are the fourth and fifth systems that Cenergy Power has built for Rio Bravo Ranch in less than two years. They will provide clean and reliable power to one of the ranch's reservoirs and selected well pumps.  Over the course of 25 years, Rio Bravo will realize over $2 million of solar savings and produce enough clean energy to reduce its carbon footprint by nearly 11,000 metric tons of CO2.

The rapid adoption of solar for Rio Bravo Ranch is fueled by the short return on investment coupled with the energy independence gained by offsetting close to 100% of the ranch's electric utility costs on the meters tied to solar power.
