ABINGTON, Pa., Sept. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Center School, an independent private school for children who learn differently, has named Lisa S. Havel as its new Director of Finance and Operations. Havel will report to Allison Enslein, Center School's Head of School.
"Lisa has worked for many years with independent schools and we are looking forward to adding her expertise to the Center School team," said Enslein. "Her understanding of private schools and her laser focus on efficient accounting practices made her the right choice for us."
Havel's experience includes work at Jenkintown's Abington Friends School, where she served as Accounting Manager for 13 years, and positions at both Mount Saint Joseph Academy and Germantown Academy, where she held similar positions.
"I am passionate about independent education, and Center School's specific mission of helping children learn to read is very personal to me," said Havel. "My job is to run the business affairs effectively, allowing the education experts here to focus on what they do extraordinarily well."
Center School, which celebrates its 25th year this year, has a long track record of teaching children with learning disabilities, ranging from dyslexia to auditory processing issues and ADHD, to read and thrive.
"With a strong background in financial modeling, forecasting, and financial aid issues, Lisa is an excellent addition to the Center School community," said Sue Floyd, Center School's Board Chairman. "With 25 years of success under our belts, we understand the importance of keeping both our teaching methods and our 'back of the house' in order. Lisa's knowledge of the most up-to-date resources and technology will help us be even more efficient for our families and our community."
Havel has a B.S. in Business Administration from Gwynedd Mercy College and a Graduate Certificate in Fraud and Forensic Accounting from LaSalle University. She lives in Hatboro, PA with her family.
