During his Address, Gov. Rauner recognized Wong for his leadership within Intersect Illinois (formerly known as the Illinois Business and Economic Development Corporation)—a nonpartisan entity created by Gov. Rauner to assist the Department of Commerce in executing economic development through a new approach, adjusting to the changing needs of businesses.
Gov. Rauner referred to Intersect Illinois as one of the administration's recent successes.

He is also a former board member of the Northern Illinois Executive Club.
