CFTC To Announce First SmartCheck Month In October

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will celebrate its first SmartCheck Month in October with an assortment of information aimed at educating investors on the risk of fraud. CFTC has been celebrating SmartCheck week since 2015, but this is the first year CFTC will keep the conversation going about investment fraud through the month. |
Throughout the month, CFTC will provide tips and resources to help investors protect themselves against fraud. In addition, CFTC will participate in financial planning events around the country. CFTC will conclude the month by releasing findings from its nationwide survey on financial fraud perceptions and attitudes and unveiling an "Investment Fraud Conversation Starter Kit." |

CFTC's Office of Customer Education and Outreach launched SmartCheckSM, an initiative to educate investors on the risk of financial fraud, in 2014. |
