TEL AVIV, Israel and SEATTLE, Washington, April 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
With more and more marketers seeking out elusive Millennials and Generation Z, Literally Media has been formed to provide marketers with a technology-driven publisher targeting these coveted demographic segments.
"I'm excited that Cheezburger is joining Literally Media because I believe that the combined offering of eBaum's World and Cheezburger will make us a 'must have' on any Millennial OR Gen Z-focused media plan," said Scott Moore, the CEO of Cheezburger who will be joining Literally Media in the same capacity. "Given the importance of technology in publishing today, the fact that Literally Media is an ad and data tech-driven startup from Israel, the country that gave us so many ad data and ad tech market disruptors, is a great win for us and will allow us to utilize more traffic and audience data at scale to improve the efficacy of our clients' campaigns." Scott joined Cheezburger in 2013 as COO and was elevated to CEO last summer after previously leading MSN's US business, serving as head of media at Yahoo, president of MSNBC.com and publisher of Slate.
Cheezburger was formed by Ben Huh in 2007 after he purchased "I Can Has Cheezburger", a site famous for its cat pictures overlayed with text, and transformed it into a blog network focused on humor with a company mission to "Make The World Happier for 5 Minutes a Day." EBaum's World was founded by Eric Bauman in 2001 featuring entertainment media such as videos, cartoons, and web games.
Literally Media was founded in 2015 by ad tech veterans from eXelate, Microsoft, Ybrant and Lycos with the realization that publishers must make smarter data-driven decisions at the traffic and product level in order to improve user discoverability and audience engagement within their sites and content.
With all of the political mudslinging in the news, people are craving a break with a cute animal video or "Fresh Memes to Make You Laugh".
By offering better, more interactive advertising, including seamlessly integrated native ad units which are humorous and engaging like the sites on which they run, coupled with the new scale and reach, Literally Media is able to deliver engaged Millennials and Generation Z sought after by marketers.
According to the most recent comScore data from January 2016, eBaum's World and the Cheezburger network are ranked at #9 and #10 in the Entertainment - Humor category according to reach in the US.
1 Resignation Media
4 Electus Digital
5 Comedy Central
8 Defy Media Humor
10 Cheezburger / Know Your Meme Network
But when the two are combined, they move up to #5 above Comedy Central according to their cumulative reach, which is over 10,000,000.
Research from Turn, the independent omnichannel ad tech company, shows that marketers are spending 500% more on reaching Millennials than they're spending on any other demographic segment, which includes 450% more on mobile marketing and 600% more on video advertising: http://www.turn.com/resources/the-four-groups-of-millennials-marketers-value-most
"We believe that by bringing together these two exciting destinations, we are creating a 'must have' destination for media planners interested in engaging with the Millennial and Generation Z demographic," said Ori Elraviv, CEO, Literally Media. "We've already succeeded in implementing data driven decisions in the operations of eBaum's World, using Literally Media's proprietary data optimization technology, and truly believe this is just the beginning of our journey to expand our reach with this fascinating audience."
