CHESCO Alumni of Lincoln University to Host Exciting Book Signing and Entertainment

Book Signing of "An Unfailing Legacy: Lincoln University" to endow Million Dollar Scholarship Fund at Lincoln University
WEST CHESTER, Pa., Jan. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Sunday, February 10, 2013, from 2 to 5 p.m., the Chester County Chapter (CHESCO) of the Alumni Association of Lincoln University, PA, will host a book signing of the recently published, "An Unfailing Legacy: Lincoln University," at Milestone Events, 600 E. Market Street, West Chester PA. Copies of the book may be pre-ordered online at www.anunfailinglegacy.com.
"An Unfailing Legacy: Lincoln University" is an 545 page volume of stories and recollections of noted alumni, professors and friends who have been associated with Lincoln University over the past 50 years and who bear witness to the profound influence that the nation's first historically Black university, founded in Chester County, has in America, the world and in their personal lives. All proceeds of nationwide sales of the book will be donated by the alumni and writers to a projected million dollar scholarship fund at Lincoln University for deserving students.
Dr. Ja Jahannes, Dr. Richard Winchester, Carol Anderson-Lewis, Dr. David Closson, Maceo Felton, Howard Brown, Esq., Sheila Sawyer, Stephanie Wilson Benson, Roxanne Evans, Susan Gunn Pevar, Alisa Drayton, Hon. Oliver Franklin, Tony Zanfordino IV, Kenny Poole, Carol Black, Rev. Francis Ellen Pauland many other illustrious writers and artists will be available to sign a copy of "An Unfailing Legacy." Alumna and acclaimed jazz vocalist, Melanie Roberts,and her ensemble will perform at the event.

Carol exclaims, "Our chapter is honored and excited to bring the Lincoln University writers and the West Chester community together for an important event in Black History Month that will raise funds for scholarships that are desperately needed by our students."
Another key member hosting the afternoon is Susan Gunn Pevar. She has contributed chapters about the Mary Dodd Brown Memorial Chapel, the early curators of the African Museum at Lincoln and about Desegregation and Coeducation. She states, "The afternoon is expected to bring some of the area's most successful business persons, public officials and citizens to support a great cause and enjoy great entertainment and the fellowship of interesting and distinguished guests."
The Chester County Chapter of the Alumni Association of Lincoln University is the region's organization of alumni of Lincoln University with a primary mission to bountifully support the university through fundraising, recruitment of students, encourage the support of local business and the community as well as to focus upon key pre-determined projects and initiatives chosen by the members.
The event is free and all purchasers of the book will be entered in a drawing for a free Kindle Fire tablet at the book signing. A commemorative calendar, sponsored through the generosity of area businesses and organizations will also be available.
