Chicago Dental Society Foundation Hires Interim Executive Director
CHICAGO, March 11, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Chicago Dental Society Foundation (CDSF) is very excited to announce that Carolyn M. Van Eck has been appointed by The Board of Trustees as Interim Executive Director.
About Chicago Dental Society Foundation
The CDSF's Mission is to strive to improve the oral health care of the communities it serves by providing a source of funding for access to care programs and dental education. In 2008 the Chicago Dental Society (CDS) invested $1.5 Million to establish the Foundation to expand their commitment to improving oral health for all through philanthropy. Since 2002, CDS and its philanthropic arm, Chicago Dental Society Foundation, have donated more than $1 million to local clinics and programs that help people get the dental care that they need. These two organizations have also supported dental education throughout the State of Illinois by donating $2.5 million, including a $500,000, five year pledge to University of Illinois-Chicago's College of Dentistry and a $250,000 three-year pledge to Southern Illinois University's School of Dental Medicine.
About Carolyn M. Van Eck
Ms.Van Eck has served as Trustee of the CDSF Board of Directors 2009-2011 and Chairman of the Dental Trade Alliance Foundation 2009-2011. In addition, Ms. Van Eck has corporate experience with a major manufacturer in the dental industry, from 1980-2012 in the roles of Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.
The CDS Foundation is dedicated to strengthening dental education and improving oral health care by supporting programs in our communities. The foundation is a charitable 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization.
