CHICAGO, Dec. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- With more than 13,000 board-certified physicians practicing in and around Chicago, choosing one can be stressful. To help readers zero in on the best option for their specific needs, the January issue of Chicago magazine features Top Doctors, an all-new list of the 355 best specialists in the six-county Chicago area, as voted on by their peers. To compile the list, Chicago enlisted the help of Castle Connolly Medical to conduct an annual survey made available to all licensed physicians asking them to nominate up to 10 doctors they view as the best in their own specialty and up to three MDs in other specialties. Researchers then track and review each physician's education, training, hospital affiliations, and professional activities, verifying that they are licensed and board certified. The result is a comprehensive list of the most-recommended physicians in 57 specialties, and even more subspecialties.
Six months after Sandra Bland was found hanging in a Texas jail cell, her family still searches for resolution. In The Real Story of Sandra Bland, Chicago reporter Bryan Smith takes a closer look at the controversial tragedy that left many American's wondering how someone so ecstatic about starting a new job, so passionate about the Black Lives Matter movement, and so close with her family and those she loved could take her own life so abruptly. How failing to signal a lane change could result in her spending three days in jail, and later leading to her death. Sandra's mother and sisters sit down with Chicago to share the details of Sandra's life, the first time the family has been willing to delve so deeply and provide an intimate look at a life interrupted.
