Global Leaders Convene to "Navigating the Marketing Law Maze"
CHICAGO, Oct. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Beginning November 5th, Chicago's Downtown Marriott Hotel will host the 36th Annual Brand Activation Association (BAA) Marketing Law Conference. A record-setting group of leading regulators, legislators, corporate counsel, marketers, and technology pioneers are expected to join representatives of the nation's leading law firms for the annual event examining legislative issues affecting the advertising and marketing industry.
"This conference grows more robust every year because marketing and advertising evolve so quickly," says Ed Kabak, BAA's Chief Legal Officer. "The speed and extent of changed laws and practices in the social and digital media, privacy, and intellectual property arenas and the evolving regulatory climate make this conference the one- stop shop to gather all practical legal knowledge, best practices, and deep understanding of the industry."
This year's conference is entitled, "Navigating the Marketing Law Maze" and runs from November 5-7. It is expected to attract more than 700 industry leaders from around the globe.
Highlighted among 57 presentations from more than 120 speakers are:
- A keynote address on future Federal Trade Commission policy and enforcement by Jessica Rich, Director, Bureau of Consumer Protection, FTC
- A second keynote in which Carine Roman, LinkedIn's head of Global Advertising Operations, will present, "Demystifying the Advertising Landscape: Programmatic Buying Data/Privacy, Targeting and the "Fortune Cookie" World of Online and Mobile Space"

- Panels including "Meet the Regulators" with representatives of the FTC and state attorneys general; and "Crossing the Border Without Crossing the Line" examining global advertising compliance
"The importance of this conference cannot be overstated," according to Bonnie Carlson, President and CEO of the BAA. "The issues examined here will impact brands and consumers for years to come. It's easy to see why so many industry leaders regard this as an event they can't miss."
