BIRMINGHAM, Ala., March 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- DST Health Solutions, LLC, today announced implementation of their integrated CareAnalyzer and CareConnect applications at Chinese Community Health Plan (CCHP), a San Francisco-based health plan affiliated with Chinese Hospital. A new case study is available at dsthealthsolutions.com.
When CCHP determined their existing care management system was not meeting their needs, they knew they had to find a solution that could be implemented cost effectively. Their solution would also have to meet the state's requirement for a 24-hour Nurse Advice Line, and the lead time for the implementation was short.
CCHP chose DST Health Solutions' Care Analyzer and CareConnect, the foundations of DST's Integrated Care Management (ICM) suite of solutions, which is integrated in real time with CCHP's claims processing system. ICM identifies members most in need of care, allowing CCHP to intervene and provide enhanced care management; following up with systematic evaluations to ensure all members receive the proactive care they need.
"The real-time integration definitely adds value," says Larry Loo, CCHP's Director of Business Development and Operations. "The ICM Suite has given us the ability to identify at-risk populations, place those populations into an appropriate care management program, and develop planned interventions that focus on the best outcomes for our members. Real-time integration with our claims administrative system, DST's PowerMHC® system, allows our care management staff to perform their care management responsibilities utilizing the most current eligibility, provider, and benefit information available on a member. This helps us ensure a greater level of both member and provider satisfaction."
There was also the issue of timing. CCHP had a state-mandated deadline for the Nurse Advice Line, plus an internal deadline for getting the ICM solution up and running.
"DST's flexibility in providing this solution was also key to the success of the project," said Mark McAdoo, Vice President of DST's Care Management division. "DST implemented the ICM system in only six months, including the Nurse Advice Line, which alone required the development of special scripts and technology. By working closely with CCHP and using innovative approaches, we were able to bring the implementation to completion in just six months. We're very proud of both our and CCHP's teams for completing the project successfully."
