Today, the Surpriise App (www.surpriise.me), a digital gift giving app recently featured on the Ellen Degeneres Show and Live with Kelly, launched a new feature that allows users to send these envelopes of money to each other electronically. Givers must first download the app then they can send specified amounts of money (in the form of a PayPal money transfer or a digital Pre-Paid Visa card) to a group of friends in their contact list and put the cash up for grabs to the first person who beats a high score in one of 3 fun mini-games.
The new service is the latest step by the Surpriise App to keep its mission of turning digital money into a form of communication that brings people closer together, in this case by embedding media, fun and the context of Lunar New Year into each money transfer.
Envelopes stuffed with money are by far the most popular gift for special occasions in China such as the Lunar New Year, weddings, the birth of a child and even funerals.
"We're all about the experience, and initiating a competition where your friends compete in a game for my new year's gift is pretty funny, and it gets people chatting and playing against each other, even after the gift is claimed". says Rob Balahura, one of the founders of the Surpriise App.
This Lunar New Year, January 28th, the Surpriise Team will be letting people compete for free cash on Facebook (facebook.com/surpriiseapp) and Twitter (@surpriiseapp) or just download the app yourself and give a gift of fun this Lunar New Year.
The Surpriise App is the worlds first app that lets you give friends and family a personal and fun gift of cash for any occasion. For more information download the app at http://www.surpriise.me
