LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Los Angeles professional soccer team Chivas USA has formed a partnership with the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles to give $50,000 for need-based scholarships for Mexican and Mexican-American students at Loyola Marymount University this year.

The new Chivas USA/IME Becas Scholarship Fund is a joint venture between the team's nonprofit foundation, Fundacion Chivas de Corazon, which is donating $25,000, and the Mexican government's IME Becas program, which is donating $25,000 in matching funds.
