Chris Hosek of Texas Star Alliance Named to Board of American Council for Young Political Leaders
AUSTIN, Texas, July 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Council for Young Political Leaders (ACYPL), based in Washington, D.C., has named Chris Hosek a Board Trustee of their organization. Hosek is an experienced delegate of several of ACYPL's international exchanges and has participated in numerous Texas trade missions abroad. He is the only Texan currently on the board.
Since 1966, ACYPL has designed and implemented unique international exchange activities for political leaders worldwide. ACYPL exchanges are designed to encourage civil discourse, active citizenship, and engaged and sound public policy making. ACYPL promotes sustained professional relationships and friendships among young people poised to become tomorrow's global leaders and policy makers.
With support from the U.S. Department of State, business, labor, foundation, and alumni partners, ACYPL designs and conducts 25 to 30 exchanges annually. The organization has a global network of more than 8,500 alumni in 127 countries and territories. The board is composed of former ambassadors, politicians, business leaders, and non-government organization professionals.

Chris Hosek is a principal of Texas Star Alliance, specializing in direct lobbying and state agency relations. He has experience with a broad range of legislative issues and policy initiatives, including a specific expertise in the energy sector. Previously, Chris served as the chief of staff to the chair of the Railroad Commission of Texas, which regulates oil and gas in the state. Chris is also an Urban Transportation Commissioner for the City of Austin. In addition, he sits on the board of Ballet Austin and is a board member for the Lone Star Success Academy, which improves the lives of troubled, at-risk, and vulnerable Texas youth by offering an alternative education.
