Christopher Frantz, Principal at Endicott Biofuels, Named to State of California Advisory Panel on Implementation of Low Carbon Fuel Standard Legislation
HOUSTON, Feb. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- California's Air Resources Board (ARB) has appointed Christopher Frantz, a Principal at Endicott Biofuels, LLC (EBF), to its Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) advisory panel.
The LCFS comprises the framework and regulations for enacting state law AB32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act. This panel will meet throughout 2011 to provide assistance and input to the ARB staff regarding the implementation of the legislation.
"Endicott, with equity backing from Haddington Ventures LLC, began in 2007 with the goal of helping reduce America's dependence on foreign crude by producing biodiesel from any fat or oil," said Mr. Frantz. "By combining inedible, waste feedstocks with our unique production process, we are able to produce a high-purity, high-quality biodiesel – called G2 Clear™ -- that has remarkably low-carbon intensity. Participation on this panel will allow us to further this goal by bringing our production and refining perspective to the table, and we are grateful to the ARB for the opportunity to contribute."
Beginning in February, the panel will meet regularly to discuss and provide input on a range of issues including LCFS progress and targets, impact on state revenues, consumers and economic growth, advances in fuels and production technologies, and fuel lifecycle analyses among other topics. Panelists include representatives from the California Energy Commission, the California Public Utilities Commission, fuel providers, consumers, academia, environmental groups and others. Its final report will be submitted to the ARB at its December 2011 Board meeting.
