
Cincinnati Youth Honors Children's Mental Health Awareness Day
CINCINNATI, May 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- More than 30 youth-serving agencies will come together on Thursday, May 6th to honor the unsung heroes of children's mental health in Hamilton County. Every day countless young people are challenged by mental, emotional and behavioral obstacles, and a select few adults helping to bring positive change to the community will be recognized in this 7th annual event.
Thursday is also Children's Mental Health Awareness Day (http://www.samhsa.gov/children/) and local youth will celebrate the adults who have made a difference in their lives. The awards ceremony will include:
- 18 awards for youth-serving agencies and community partners (including psychologists, HCJFS staff, probation officers and many others)
- Three awards for community collaboration (Child and Family Team Awards)
- The Believe and Achieve Award -- an award presented by a parent to their child
Entertainment will also be performed by youth throughout the ceremony. Media are invited to attend the event. Interviews with youth, family members and community partners are available.
