Citizen Watch Co. Announces New Scholarship Award In Partnership With National Merit Scholarship Corporation
LYNDHURST, N.J., June 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Citizen Watch Company of America, Inc. (COA) today announced the introduction of a new scholarship program to support academic achievement throughout the country. The company will present a cash award to a student in each of the 50 states based on the student's academic accomplishment under the auspices of National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
These new awards, named the National Merit Citizen Eco-Drive Scholarships, will be given to high school students graduating with the class of 2013. Along with achieving excellent academic records, there is a preference for student recipients who were also members of their high school sponsored sports teams. As part of Citizen's international media ad campaign, Unstoppable, which attributes to the continual drive and success of certain athletic individuals, CITIZEN is proud to award this scholarship to select students to fuel that unstoppable passion within them - the drive to succeed.
In addition to receiving this prestigious cash scholarship, each student will be awarded with a CITIZEN timepiece and have their name featured in a national ad created by CITIZEN in the Wall Street Journal.
The scholarships will enable CITIZEN to build ongoing relationships with college age students as part of their initiative to connect with this important demographic.
Jeffrey Cohen, President of Citizen Watch Company of America, Inc. remarked, "We have great admiration for the unstoppable drive of our country's leading scholar-athletes. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to provide the support to them in achieving their personal academic goals; and we look forward to welcoming them to our network of CITIZEN enthusiasts."
