SEATTLE, Jan. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, City University of Seattle's online bachelor's programs were ranked among the top 50 in U.S. News & World Reports' "Best Online Programs". Over 850 accredited U.S. based institutions were evaluated. For the second year in a row CityU was the only private Washington State based institution to make the list.
These rankings are based on academic reputation; graduation and retention rates; faculty resources; student selectivity; financial resources; and alumni giving. As a leading nonprofit university in the Pacific Northwest, CityU excels in these areas and remains dedicated to innovating new ways to reach students online and face-to-face.
"It is an honor to again be ranked among U.S. News & World Report's top 50," said City University of Seattle President Richard Carter. "This ranking demonstrates CityU's dedication to serving our students, and confirms our commitment to quality by offering a premier, relevant, and 21st century education."
CityU is expanding its acclaimed bachelor's offerings in 2014 to include a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Both integrate input given by professional advisory boards and aim to prepare students for in-demand careers.
In addition to the U.S. News & World Report ranking, CityU has also been recently ranked among the "Most Affordable" online colleges and universities in Washington State, and for the seventh year in a row was ranked a Military Friendly School.
