CORALVILLE, Iowa, Nov. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CIVCO Medical Solutions will demonstrate the latest in ultrasound guidance technology at the Radiological Society of North America annual conference in Chicago November 29 – December 4, 2015. The Verza needle guidance system is designed to offer customers unrivaled versatility, enhanced user experience and deliver confident clinical outcomes.
"Verza was developed with input from leading clinicians around the world, with a goal to make ultrasound guided interventions simpler, and to expand the clinical utility of ultrasound guidance systems", said Julie Meyer, CIVCO director of clinical marketing. "We believe that Verza, in combination with leading ultrasound equipment, will significantly enhance clinician experience using guides."
A key feature of the Verza system is its direct transducer attachment, in combination with VerzaLink™, a proprietary locating feature designed into the ultrasound transducer, eliminating the need for a custom bracket attachment, and providing an ideal profile and position on the ultrasound probe. Additionally, VerzaLink removes time and costs associated with bracket set-up, cleaning, storage and maintenance.
The Verza system was developed to meet the needs of clinicians accustomed to fixed-angle guidance as well as those who prefer a free-hand technique. Offering a selection of five potential approach angles, the Verza guide provides an optimal pathway for a wide assortment of anatomical targets, and, with 14 instrument inserts, ranging in size from 25 gauge to 12 French, Verza is designed for compatibility with the market's largest range of interventional devices.
Building on the improvements of previous CIVCO offerings such as Infiniti Plus™ and the Ultra Pro™ family of products, Verza delivers improved flexibility, optimal stability, increased accuracy and more efficient functionality while minimizing blind zone and unguided needle length. All of this provides the benefits of decreased procedure time and fewer complications that result from poor needle visibility.
Verza is pending US FDA 510(k) clearance. International patents are pending. Verza is planned for launch with leading ultrasound equipment in 2016.
