Cleared For 'TAKE OFF!' Two Flight Attendants Land National TV Travel Series

Flight attendants Gailen David and Bobby Laurie are landing on televisions across America with a new travel series produced by Savvy Omnimedia, that inspires travelers to make the most of their trip.

Gailen David and Bobby Laurie, better known as "The Savvy Stews," had their flight paths cross in 2010 at a conference connecting travel bloggers.

"We were both blogging about the life of a flight attendant and our crazy experiences at 35,000 ft, but also realized we had the same mission to inform travelers how to make their experience on the road easier, stress-free and more civilized based on our experiences… so we decided to work together," explained Bobby Laurie. "That's when we started calling ourselves The Savvy Stews."

Combined, the Stews have over 40 years of hospitality and airline industry experience making them the only travel hosts on television with direct, hands on, industry skills and knowledge.

The Savvy Stews' show might be new, but the duo isn't new to television. "We started our website [SavvyStews.com] and filled it with tips and information that we had access to and saw an amazing response so we thought we'd take it a step further and we contacted some morning talk shows about teaching their audience how to travel like the pros do," said Laurie. The first show to give the guys a shot was "Daytime," a national lifestyle and entertainment show that The Stews still appear on as monthly travel contributors.

Additionally, The Stews are entering their second year appearing bi-weekly on the nationally syndicated morning show "The Daily Buzz" from destinations around the world. "After a few years we decided to take our travel segments out of the studio and on the road. We travel the world and send reports back with destination highlights, tips and deals for their viewers." David added that with the new show "we have more time to let viewers experience the journey with us."

"TAKE OFF! with The Savvy Stews" will share the adventures David and Laurie encourage viewers to have in various cities in America and beyond, from tasting the local cuisine, to tackling bold activities, and taking the road less traveled; because they want to experience the discovery along with the viewers at home. 

"TAKE OFF!" has been cleared to air this fall on Destination America and will be the only travel series releasing new episodes in daytime television. "TAKE OFF!" will air Thursdays at 8 a.m. EST / 5 a.m. PST starting October 2, 2014.[1]
