CLIA Announces New Global Communications Advisor
WASHINGTON, Oct. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) today announced that Barbara Muckermann has been retained on a consulting basis with the Association as Senior Communications Advisor. In that capacity, she will work with CLIA and the European Cruise Council (ECC) on strategic communications initiatives in support of the global cruise industry.
"Barbara's extensive cruise industry experience in numerous markets around the world will provide additional value to CLIA and the ECC as the global cruise industry continually to strengthens its communications with stakeholders," said Christine Duffy, president and CEO of CLIA. "In this role, Barbara will help the industry maximize coordination among key global markets and leverage our engagement with critical audiences."
Muckermann was most recently chief marketing officer of MSC Cruises, based in Geneva, Switzerland. While at MSC, she served as Chairperson for the CLIA-European Cruise Council's European Communications Taskforce. Prior to MSC, her experience includes serving as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Silversea Cruises and Advisor to the Chief Product Officer at Norwegian Cruise Line.
Muckermann received her MBA from Columbia University. She is fluent in English, German, Italian, French and Spanish.
