CLICKON Media sees huge traffic growth in 2015; opens West Coast office for branded content
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CLICKON Media – the sports publishing company that connects Generation Y with the world's greatest sports through trending social news and disruptive content – will open a new shop in Southern California after seeing significant revenue and audience growth in the last quarter of 2015.
With articles such as "At 395 Yards, This Par 3 Is F**king Ridiculous" and "What It Feels Like To Be Run Over By LeBron James", CLICKON Media has built up a strong audience of 18-34 year old sports fans looking to connect with their favorite games via social media.
CLICKON Media's first website, CLICKON Golf, hit 1.2 million visitors in December. With this success, CLICKON will now expand into multiple sports properties beginning with CLICKON Soccer and CLICKON Motorsport launching in Q1 of 2016.
CLICKON Golf saw a 600% increase in traffic over Q3 and Q4 of 2015, becoming one of the world's most visited golf networks. Since launching in 2014, the site is attracting advertisers looking to reach high-spending millennials.
"Through disruptive content that is tied into trending social conversations, we're influencing the way millennials are consuming content about their favorite sports, especially in a traditional game like golf," said Richard Wilson, CEO and co-founder.
The company also runs a branded content studio which produces creative ads for brands within sport, as well as organizations looking to connect with Generation Y through content marketing in other industries. Their roster of clients includes DHL, HSBC, Srixon, Cleveland Golf, Wilson Sporting Goods and GameBook.
The West Coast office will service clients in golf, soccer and motorsport. It will be headed by CLICKON Media's Creative Director – Benjamin Potter – and its Director of Marketing – Jilayne Lovejoy, as well as newly appointed Chief Operations Officer James Wynne, formerly of William Morris Endeavor. They will oversee a creative and sales team for CLICKON Media's portfolio of sites.
"We're excited to have a consistent presence in Southern California to better service our clients who have partnered with us on our sports sites. The creative team will be responsible for producing memorable original content which informs and entertains our young audience, while working with brands to cultivate stronger relationships with consumers through awesome stories," said Benjamin Potter, who is also one of CLICKON Media's co-founders.
